SHPP “Slavova" is located 7 km from the town of Blagoevgrad. It was put into operation in 2010. The plant consists of water intake of Slavova River from which an embedded pipeline starts with a diameter of 700 mm and a length of 3500 m. A Pelton turbine is fitted in the building, from which the waste water is discharged directly into the shaft of the 6th plant cascade “Blagoevgrad Bistritsa".
The parameters of the plant are as follows:


Pelton turbine with power P=1775kW, produced by the metallurgical plant "Vaptsarov" in the town of Pleven.

SHPP "Koynare" is located in the village of Koynare, Cherven Briag municipality. The plant was put into operation in 1947 and consists of water intake built onto the Iskar River, from which starts a concrete channel with dimensions 32m² and length of 4800 m. The building is fitted with three equal turbines type “Kaplan”, which ejects the waste water in the exhaust duct to the Iskar River. 
The parameters of the plant are as follows:


Three Kaplan turbines with a total capacity P=1500 kW produced in the Czech Republic.
Net head H=6.35m
Water quantity Q=32,000m³/sec
